Camping le Chaponnet - Brem-sur-Mer
Camping le Chaponnet is run by the Le Diraison family, whose exceptional friendliness and enthusiasm sets the tone for a wonderful, relaxing holiday. This is a well-kept site with neat hedging and colourful flowerbeds. Emplacements are of a good size and are generally divided by bushes and trees giving extra privacy. The campsite benefits from both an outdoor pool and a wonderful indoor pool - so you can enjoy the water whatever the weather! If you are feeling active, there is tennis, table-tennis, basketball, volleyball and a gym available for your enjoyment. If all this sounds too energetic, you can relax and unwind at the modern bar terrace, or enjoy the entertainment in high season. This includes discos, karaoke, magic shows and live music.
Camping Interlude - Ile de Re
Camping Interlude is a pleasant and relaxing campsite, with sandy emplacements under cooling shady pines. This is a superb location for young families, with a glorious beach right on your doorstep. You will find mile upon mile of gently shelving shore that is ideal for swimming, windsurfing or for family beach games and picnics. Back on site, there is a combined indoor/outdoor pool close to the modern restaurant and bar area. You can limber up in the gymnasium or relax in the sauna or jacuzzi. We recommend that you explore the island by bicycle. The Ile de Ré is very flat and there are a variety of interesting cycle tracks to enjoy (bicycles can be hired on site). This idyllic island is the perfect place to slowly unwind and relax.
Camping les Ecureuils - Jard sur Mer
Camping les Ecureuils is a family-run site awarded a '3 red tent' rating from Michelin. Nestling in a forest of pine and mature oaks, the well-maintained emplacements and colourful rose filled flowerbeds reflect the pride of the owners, the Robin family. Les Ecureuils will be particularly appreciated by families with young children as it has a safe and friendly environment with plenty of space for the children to play. The L-shaped pool with separate children's pool is at the heart of the site and its broad sun terrace, surrounded by hedges, is the ideal place to soak up the hot Vendéan sun. There is also a covered pool located by the bar. The owners organise a lively programme of family entertainment including magic shows and live music.
Camping du Jard - La Tranche
Camping du Jard is a very friendly, immaculate site located close to lively seaside resorts and just a short stroll, across a coastal road, from south-facing sandy shores. Camping du Jard is an ideal site for families with younger children as it offers a spacious play area in safe surroundings and a tranquil atmosphere. Many people prefer to laze at their emplacement, sheltered from coastal winds, while others spend hours at the indoor or outdoor pool and jacuzzi. The surrounding terrace is a great sunbathing spot. The site's top class amenities are well maintained in terracotta roofed Vendéan-style buildings. The more active make use of the small gym, tennis courts and bicycle hire before unwinding in the bar with a 'demi' or two!
Camping Zagarella - Longeville
Camping Zagarella is in an ideal location for families of all ages. So near to many south-facing sandy beaches - backed by sand dunes and pinewoods - you will be spoilt for choice on sunny days. On site there is an inviting pool complex with a spiralling waterchute, which the children adore, while adults can indulge in the luxury of a jacuzzi and sauna. If you feel like doing a bit more than unwinding at your emplacement or at the pool - join in with the competitive water polo games or hit the target at archery. The modern and bright bar overlooks the pool and is the location for much of the lively organised evening entertainment (discos and live music in high season). The Italian-style restaurant is friendly and welcoming and serves a selection of delicious local specialities.
Camping les Biches - St Hilaire
Camping les Biches is rather special. It offers emplacements scattered amidst fragrant pine woodland - a haven in the centre of this lively and popular coastline. As one of our most social and active sites in the height of the summer, it is ideal for teenagers. There are excellent sports facilities - tennis, table-tennis and volleyball - as well as live bands, discos and karaoke (all free, six nights a week). For you, there are two good tennis courts and a fantastic pool complex including an indoor and outdoor pool and a jacuzzi. Here you can relax on the terrace, or have a coffee at the bar while the children whizz down the waterslide. Younger children will also enjoy making new friends at the excellent playground or playing a round or two at the mini-golf.
Camping la Yole - St Jean-Plage
Camping la Yole, set amid the forest that adorns the coast, is a delightful, well-run family campsite with excellent facilities. The site is laid out in a woodland glade of pine and poplars with shrubs everywhere - the reception is festooned with colourful geraniums. Relaxing is easy here, most of our emplacements are surrounded by hedges, offering privacy and shade from the hot Vendée sun. The pristine pool complex is popular with children and boasts a large swimming pool, a children's pool, waterslide, a heated indoor pool and a jacuzzi. Overlooking the pool is the spacious and welcoming restaurant and the tempting ice cream bar. Family entertainment is provided in high season and includes discos and magic shows.
Camping les Amiaux - St Jean-Plage
Camping les Amiaux is a popular campsite on the vibrant Vendée coastline, close to St Jean-de-Monts. The campsite, set within a cool pine forest, is large, spacious and well established, divided by a road into two parts and connected by an underpass. The emplacements are roomy and grassy, with mature tree cover providing welcome shade to most. Families with young children will adore this site as it has been designed especially with them in mind. There are three pools (one indoor), five great waterslides, three play areas and plenty of room in which to run around. In the evening many guests migrate to the rustic charm of the warm and friendly bar and restaurant to enjoy the family entertainment, while the children are happily making friends at the disco.
Camping Acapulco - St Jean-Plage
Camping Acapulco is a well-maintained and modern site, in a wonderful location close to many long sandy beaches. The facilities on site are superb and include a landscaped pool complex, which offers five waterslides with their own splash pool, a children's pool and a swimming pool. Overlooking the complex is the bright and attractive bar area, housed in a white washed, terracotta tiled building - typical of the Vendée. Relax here with a refreshing drink, whilst the children splash around in the water. In high season families can enjoy a good programme of lively entertainment including discos, bingo and karaoke. Children will love playing at the well-equipped play area or in the large games room with pool table and computer games.
Camping le Clarys Plage - St Jean-Plage
Camping le Clarys Plage is a lively site located in the heart of the popular Vendée, just two miles away from St Jean-de-Monts and within walking distance of a golden, sandy beach. The main attraction here is the superb pool complex. Located at the entrance to site, it features water slides and jacuzzi, fountains and bridges, as well as a separate covered pool and a paddling pool for the children. The bar terrace overlooks the pool area, providing an excellent spot to relax with a cool drink, and is the venue for the evening entertainment that takes place regularly throughout the season. Please note that although there is no restaurant or shop on site, there is a supermarket and a choice of bars and restaurants just a short walk away.
Camping la Garangeoire - St Julien
Camping la Garangeoire is an intimate 'Castels and Camping' site that we are delighted to add to our 2006 programme. Set in the 200-hectare estate of a family château, away from the hustle and bustle of the coast, you will feel a sense of tranquillity and calm amongst the attractive mature oak trees. Nestled in the woodland are very spacious, grassy emplacements which have some shade and offer privacy. The quiet surroundings of the on site lake are ideal for a spot of boating or fishing. There is plenty here to keep the children happy too - a great pool complex with waterslides, a playroom and archery to name a few. Evenings here are spent at the convivial bar and restaurant, housed in the converted outbuildings of the château - some entertainment is on offer in high season.
