On the border of Cumbria and Northumbria, Alston is the highest market town in England, and is ideal for touring the northern lakes, Yorkshire Dales and Northumbria. Within easy driving distance are Hadrians Wall, Hexham, Newcastle, the Metro Centre, Beamish Museum, Ullswater or Keswick.
