Underwood cottage is situated on the Blossom Trail. This spacious, well-equipped and very comfortable 19th-century detached house stands on its own in a delightful and secluded setting, with many species of flora and fauna in its wooded grounds, as well as plum, pear and apple trees.<br />Underwood Cottage is an ideal touring base within easy driving distance of the Malverns, Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Warwick and the Welsh borders. Evesham, (5 miles), retains the atmosphere of a busy market town on the banks of the River Avon, and is very popular with anglers. The Vale of Evesham has rivers, canals, pools and lakes galore; with much of the River Avon suitable for dinghy sailing, boat trips and canoeing. Evesham was once popular with pilgrims, as Simon de Montfort was buried beneath its abbey. The town also has good shopping and many interesting buildings. Pilgrims in search of the true English countryside need look no further than the Cotswolds, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful areas in England. Several Cotswold villages, such as Bibury and Bourton-on-the-Water (both less than an hour&rsquo;s drive), are famous as the quintessence of the English rural scene.
