The Shank nestles amongst the fairways of the 400-acre Caldecott Hall Golf Club & Country Estate, on the south eastern reaches of the beautiful and unique Norfolk Broads National Park. Relax in the hot tub while enjoying the impressive views of the golf course and the historic Waveney Forest. There are two 18-hole golf courses, the Championship course and the Academy course. Practice in the 12 berth driving range, with the golf pro or in the junior golf clininc. The &lsquo;19th hole&rsquo;, is a 18th century grade II listed clubhouse. The manor house is a 3 star hotel with a bar and restaurant, the Barnworks fitness studio & spa (heated indoor swimming pool) will help soothe away your stresses and strains and the lakes are well stocked for Catch and release fishing which is permitted on the lakes without charge, if prior notice is given. For the animal lover, the Redwings horse sanctuary is a must. Use of the clubs&rsquo; facilities is additional but substantial discounts are available for guests. Just over the road is the stunning Tudor-Jacobean Somerleyton Hall and Fritton Lake, with gardens, mazes, and bursting with activities. The cathedral city of Norwich, 20 miles to the north west, whilst traditional seaside fun is the classic seaside resort of Great Yarmouth, 5 miles to the east.
