Set in the conservation village of Coxwold, one of the most picturesque villages in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, Forge Cottage and The Old Forge are single-storey holiday cottages that have been converted respectively from a former stable and the original 16th-century blacksmith&rsquo;s smithy. Great care has been taken to retain the original features of interest, including much use of stone and timber in their interiors. Adjoining the owners&rsquo; home, both cottages overlook a secluded courtyard and have use of a shared garden. Coxwold is an ideal holiday location, placed in a prime tourist area with easy access to both the North Yorkshire Moors and the Dales. The attractive market towns of Helmsley, Thirsk and Easingwold are all within a few minutes&rsquo; drive, whilst York is just 19 miles and the coast about an hour. Byland Abbey and two historic houses are within easy walking distance of the village, and the area is rich in historic buildings, famous houses and gardens.
