An impressive, characterful country house of architectural and historic importance set in 13 acres of mature, landscaped gardens and grounds with its own lake. Mentioned in Nikolaus Pevsner&rsquo;s authoritative guide <em>The Buildings of England,</em> the house dates back to the 17th century, with later Georgian and Victorian additions and was once owned by the renowned, Oscar-winning director John Villers Farrow, father of the Hollywood actress Mia Farrow. The current owner has restored the house to its former glory to reflect its past history, whilst introducing a high standard of facilities associated with a modern-day holiday home. Enjoying breathtaking views, the grounds include landscaped gardens and meadows, which contain occasional livestock, in addition to superb views across the lake, which is a haven for wildlife, including ducks, geese, swans and herons; there is also an opportunity for fishing from its well-stocked reserves.
