A former vicarage which oozes character and charm, this detached cottage is set in the heart of the village of Crantock with the sea about 5 minutes&rsquo; walk away. Lovingly refurbished, the property has an open fire, wood-burning stove, a raised sun terrace to the rear and secluded enclosed garden with sun room and games room. The property overlooks the ancient church which dominates the village and offers a local shop, tea garden, gift shop and two pubs, one of which is reputed to be the oldest in Cornwall with a thatched roof. The area is ideal for families, with its large sandy dunes adjacent to National Trust land, ideal for walking enthusiasts. The world famous Fistral Beach with its surfing centre is only 3 miles away. Porth Joke and Hollywell Bay are also very close. Further afield, the bustling town of Newquay offers award-winning surfing beaches, a large retail centre, many shops, restaurants and pubs, a zoo, boating lake and sports centre with a pool. Cubert Common is a haven for bird-watchers, and coarse fishing, riding stables and golf are also available in the surrounding area. Trerice National Trust gardens, the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan in St Austell and the many gardens of Cornwall are worth a visit. The easily accessible Padstow Bay provides many attractions for a day trip, including mini-cruises, ferries to Rock and Polzeath, and seafood restaurants in abundance.
