Superbly located on the road between Windermere and Bowness, opposite Sherriff’s Walk Woods with a path leading half a mile down to Lake Windermere, this first and second floor holiday apartment makes an ideal base for the central Lake District. Shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as galleries, theatres, cinemas, museums and stylish boutiques are all nearby, whilst holiday activities include water sports, sailing, cycling, fell walking or just a leisurely stroll along the lakeside. There are many visitor attractions nearby such as the Beatrix Potter Exhibition, Brockhole Visitor Centre, Windermere Marina, cruises on Lake Windermere and the Aquarium of the Lakes to be found at Lakeside on the southern tip of the lake. Historic houses and gardens abound in this fascinating area with Holker Hall, Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall to name but a few. One of Britain’s best loved poets, William Wordsworth, was inspired by the beautiful scenery to write his wonderful poetry and the Wordsworth Museum and art gallery can be found at Dove Cottage in Grasmere, half an hour’s drive away.
