A pretty fishing village, St Ives is now home to the award-winning Tate Gallery, with its roof-top caf&eacute; and the Barbara Hepworth Museum &ndash; both are enough to keep any culture vulture happy for hours. Around the harbour there are narrow hilly streets, full of smaller galleries and craft studios as well as many quaint tearooms serving the famous cream teas. Beach lovers will not be disappointed &ndash; the beaches are wide, sandy and clean &ndash; and swimming in the clear blue sea is an endless pleasure, while the rock pools will keep children and adults entertained for hours.
