Fruer House in Suffolk

This unique, Grade II listed house dates from 1823 and was originally built as a chapel and latterly used as Framlingham United Reform Church. The property has undergone a comprehensive conversion and restoration to provide an impressive and highly individual property with many unusual features, all of which make for a interesting holiday home.
Fruer House is situated within a few minutes of the market square of this picturesque and historic town of Framlingham - the main starting point for exploring the many surrounding villages. These are set amidst the beautiful countryside of the Debden and Alde valleys, which have been designated as a Special Landscape Area and provide an excellent range of shopping and eating houses. Framlingham itself boasts a magnificent castle dating from the 12th century and is a splendid example of medieval architecture, topped by ornamental Tudor chimney stacks. The surrounding district is also the centre of East Anglia’s flourishing wine industry and several vineyards offer tours and tastings.
The popular coastal town of Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings, home to the Aldeburgh Festival are both within easy reach and make for an excellent day out. Several footpaths radiate out from Aldeburgh, with the most obvious trail leading along the seashore north to Thorpeness, whilst others lead southwest to the winding estuary of the River Alde, an area rich in wildfowl._Steps to entrance.
