Whitby is the jewel in the crown of North Yorkshire in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The towns skyline and colourful harbour are dominated by the ruins of St Hild’s Abbey. Spreading below a maze of quaint alleyways and narrow cobbled streets running down the bay, with La Maison Apartments perfectly located for exploring the delights of this stunning little town. Antique Curio shops, inns, tea rooms and restaurants line the streets and friendly locals wait to greet you. The glorious gardens of Pannet Park are home to the Capt James Cook Museum and the Spa Theatre which hosts live musical events throughout the season. The North Yorkshire Moors Steam Train leaves Whitby at regular intervals and a relaxing journey through the stunning Esk Valley into Goathland is a must when visiting this area. Regatta Week, the 60’s music festival and Goth Weekends are a delight when the town bustles with the locals intermingling with visitors from far and wide.
