Endeavour, a spacious farmhouse sleeping 14 people is situated at Woodhouse Farm adjacent to the remaining cottages &ndash; all skilfully converted barns. Careful landscaping has provided patios and lawns for both morning and afternoon sun and the properties border a pretty, grassed courtyard with a central fountain. There is an </strong>indoor heated swimming-pool<strong> with changing rooms as well as a shared </strong>hard tennis court<strong>. All holiday cottages are well decorated and equipped; most have Italian-tiled floors, oak-beamed ceilings, double glazing, full night storage heating, log fires or electric &lsquo;log-effect&rsquo; fires, four-poster beds (not Gretel HXN, Beaver HBBG, Ranger HTW, The Cider Barn HGGL), and en-suite facilities in every cottage (not Beaver HBBG).<br /></strong>Easily accessible from major routes and close to the end of the M5 motorway, Ashcombe is South Devon&rsquo;s countryside at its best, with deep secluded valleys and rolling tree-covered hills affording striking views stretching from the River Exe for miles along the impressive coastline. The sandy beaches at Dawlish and Teignmouth are a delight, and within a stone&rsquo;s throw is the drama of Dartmoor, a great wilderness of extremes, barren in some areas, lush in others, famous for its rocky tors and wild ponies.
